Test Audit Program - WCIRB COMPLIANCE
The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California (WCIRB) enforces the strictest audit program in
the country through its Premium Audit Accuracy Program (formerly known as the Test Audit Program) which
imposes significant fines and penalties for failing to meet minimum standards
MISCO has developed an unmatched program designed to ensure carriers not only meet but exceed the WCIRB's
rigorous standards. We have successfully helped carriers surpass these requirements, avoiding fines and penalties
and in some cases achieving exemption from the program altogether.
Each audit conducted by MISCO includes all necessary tests and samples to ensure compliance with test audit
program standards. This same meticulous approach extends to other states and applies to general liability audits
as well.
As part of the Premium Audit Accuracy Program the WCIRB requires carriers to verify the results of their test audit
"differences." Understanding the importance of this process, MISCO requests the right to recheck and refute any
alleged test audit differences at no additional cost to the carrier.
The WCIRB's Premium Audit Accuracy Program provides one of the most reliable measurements of premium audit
quality. Their findings consistently demonstrate that a high‐quality audit program not only ensures compliance
but also identifies additional premium revenue that carriers may otherwise fail to collect.
In the long run, investing in a quality audit program pays for itself by improving accuracy and increasing revenue.
